The goal of an incubator is to help create and grow businesses by nurturing ideas and providing knowledge, skills and networks to launch to market.


The Refinery is made for creatives, designed to refine, develop, test and action your business ideas.

WHO IS BEHIND IT?


Curated by some of the Sunshine Coast’s leading organisations - Sunshine Coast Council, Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance and SunCentral Maroochydore -  that are committed to growing creative industries on the Coast.


The Refinery is supported by Advance Queensland through SCRIPT, Arts QLD’s Queensland’s Regional Arts Development Fund and CQU. The initiative is also supported by industry partners Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast, Peregian Digital Hub and Creative Spaces.The Refinery is designed and delivered in collaboration with Creative Enterprise Australia with mentoring and presentations by other leading creative entrepreneurs.

WHY?

We thought you deserved it! And the region needs it. Artists and creative practitioners bring immense value to a place and we want to build on and strengthen creative industries on the Sunshine Coast. The Refinery is not another tech incubator, we avoid jargon and have designed a program relevant to creative practitioners focused on developing sustainable creative businesses and practice.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Refinery has been designed to support independent artists, early-stage entrepreneurs, creative industry practitioners with an idea ready to go. Applications are invited from individuals and groups from across the creative sector including visual art, screen, design, architecture, publishing, literature, advertising, media, podcasting, game development, fashion, performing arts, heritage, music and artisan craft. Applications are open to residents across Australia.

Applications can be made are through The Refinery website.

Complete your application and submit before 30 March 2019.

If you are short-listed, you will be invited to attend a two-day selection Bootcamp on 11 &and 12 May 2019.

Attendance at the Bootcamp is essential for you to be considered for the program and you will be notified within two days if you have been offered a place in The Refinery.
