Fifteen exciting new creative industry projects have been selected to take part in a ten week creative incubator. Almost ninety people applied to be part of The Refinery, the region's first incubator, with thirty-four projects progressing to a one-day intensive bootcamp. From education disruptors, First Nation start-ups, to slow fashion makers and podcast creators, The Refinery class of 19 will see our top fifteen participants embark on a journey to transform their idea into a sustainable business with programmed workshops, masterclasses and coaching from industry leading mentors including Heidi Middleton of Sass and Bide fame, Ian Mason from Virgin Start-Up's, Timothy O from Hatched, Kaylene Langford of Start-Up Creative and QUT Creative Enterprise Australia. The fifteen diverse participants come from a variety of backgrounds including art, fashion, architecture, music, therapy, education and indigenous enterprise. The ten-week program will culminate in a public showcase where the creative cohort will present their idea and vye for a $10,000 investment into their business journey.
